Christmas Eve by Kylie

I had a very nice Christmas Eve. I was at daycare because Mommy and Daddy had to work until the early afternoon. After we got home Grandma and Grandpa Scofield rolled into town. Followed shortly thereafter by my favorite aunt Auntie Megan.

All of the big people were talking and playing with me until we left for Christmas Eve church at 4 o'clock. Church made me sleepy so I took a nap. I must have fell asleepy good because when I woke up I was at home in my bed. Auntie got me up and then Mommy feed me dinner. The big people had spagetti and salad and bread. I would have rather had that.

Next, I got to open my presents from G&G Scofield. I got some clothes and a book and puppets and a baby lamb and a stocking and a book. But my favoritest gift was all of the wonderful paper that my gifts were wrapped in. Opening gifts was very funny and I think I did a pretty good job. Mom seems impressed.

Finally, I had to go to bed. I didn't want to but I was sleepy. Also, I been hearing an awful lot about this Santa character. Mama and Dada say that if I'm a good girl Santa will bring me presents on Christmas Day. I'll believe it when I see it.

6 months

Kylie is 6 months old now. What a big girl! She is learning to sit on her own and is staying up right for a few minutes at a time. She loves her toys and to make lots of noise. We went to the Dr today and she is 15 pounds 10 ounces and 26 inches long. The doctor says she looks great and that she is right where she is suppose to be. The doctor was have quite the time with Kylie as she was grabbing everything the doctor was using. Her stethoscope, the ear looker thing, tongue depressor. She said that Kylie was very curious, which is good.

As you can imagine with Kylie grabbing everything she is a handful. Matt and I are enjoying every moment. In the beginning we would put her in these bouncers and toys and we never thought she would figure out how to use them in a million years. Now she knows how all the buttons work and how to make the annoying song play over and over again. The time has gone so fast.

Kylie is very vocal. She mostly just says AHHHHHH! But she has to yell it for emphasis. Usually during Mom and Dad's dinner when they are trying to watch Prime Time TV. I've been repeating consonant sounds to her, but she just isn't into them yet.

That is what our girl is up to right now. She is an absolute joy, we love her very much.

First Food

So this is Kylie on Aug 4th before we tried rice cereal for the first time. She had just had her Doctors appointment a few days before and Dr. Nicholson gave us the go ahead to start the cereal. I really thought Kylie would be excited to try something new....

Apparently she wasn't!

She is doing really good with the cereal now, but it took a few days. I think she gets messier and messier each time. She likes to blow on the spoon and spray whoever is feeding her.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July! We had a nice day. Amy, Jesse and their little boy Ian came over for BBQ lunch. We had burgers, hot dogs, red and blue shaped ice cubes, and Brats boiled in beer. Ian didn't think much of the smell of the brats. After the Duncan's left we went for a quick walk around the neighborhood and Kylie fell asleep. We then continued the tradition of watching the movie Independence Day with Will Smith saving the earth from Aliens. After that Kylie practiced rolling over from her tummy to her back. She hasn't perfected it yet but every once in a while she does it. We have a video that I hope to post soon. The evening was filled with the sounds of fireworks from all directions. If I didn't know any better it sounded like Savage was under attack. I hope all others had a safe and happy 4th.

Puddin

Here is a picture from this last weekend when Auntie Megan came to visit. It was right after Kylie's bath and she is upset about not being able to splash us anymore. We will have to start doing bath time in the the bathtub instead of the kitchen since Kylie is so good with getting everything around her wet.

Kylie had a great time with Auntie. We hung out at home, went out to eat and went to the Mall of America. Since I had the extra hands here Matt and I got the garden all mulched. Hooray!! I think Kylie likes her new nickname from Megan..."Puddin"

First weekend away

We went to Fergus Falls this weekend and Matt and I did our annual Anniversary golf trip. We spent a night and golfed at Thumper Pond in Ottertail, MN and Grandpa and Grandma Ehrenberg got Kylie. The weekend went really well and Matt and I enjoyed the golf. I only called every few hours to checkup on everything. Kylie enjoyed the undivided attention from Grandpa and Grandma and Auntie Megan came Saturday to join in the fun. Somehow, we ended up with twice as many toys coming home as we did going?

Kylie has developed a little bit of stranger anxiety. Especially when people come at her excited and boisterous. She warms up after a bit. I think it is because we spend too many quiet days at home just her and Mom. This weekend did prove that Kylie can switch from nursing to a bottle like a champ. This will help when Kylie goes to daycare. She is such a good baby. We are really blessed.

2 Months Old!

Can you believe that Kylie is already two months old? It seems like she has been around forever, yet it as gone so fast. I've been trying for weeks to get a picture of her wonderful smile. This is as close as I've gotten so far, and it isn't her full grin. The camera beeps and flashes and she just looks at me confused when I'm snapping pictures. She had better get over her camera shyness soon, I've got Scrapbooking pages to create.
We had Kylie's two month Doctors appointment today. She is 10 1/2 pounds and 22 inches long. The doctor said she is a model baby. Kylie has learned to get her hands in her mouth to suck on them, she smiles, and is sleeping through the night. She still wakes up between 2-3 am but only needs to be covered up or given her pacifier and then she falls back asleep.
June is going to be a busy month with our Anniversary, family reunions, and Auntie Megan coming for a visit. I'll have lots of opportunities to take pictures but I don't know how often I'll be able to post. Plus I have to go back to work in July so I need to really enjoy my time with Kylie now.
She is so much fun and is doing something new everyday.

6 Weeks!

Kylie is six weeks old now. We went to the doctor last week and she officially weighed in at 9.5 pounds. She is growing and changing everyday. In the video she is looking at her Mobile that is over her crib. She loves to talk to the animals circling around and her first noticeable smile was at these friends. Her hands are a bit more coordinated but she hasn't really figured out that she controls them. Her neck is strong and she can hold her head pretty steady for short periods of time. Kylie's favorite time of day is 9:00 am when she and I play on the bed and watch the Ellen DeGeneres show. She gets lots of kisses and tickles.

Kylie's Top 5 Favorite Things to Suck On

5. Other brand pacifiers
4. Blankets
3. Her hands
2. Mom
1. Mr. Green her Soothie Pacifier
This is Kylie at 3 weeks. Her favorite thing to do is to suck on things. Her mouth is about the only thing she can control at this point so she takes full advantage of exercising it. I wonder as she gains control of her head, hands and feet if sucking on things will become less of a priority?

Growing...

Kylie went to the doctor for her two week check up and she is up to 7lbs and 2 oz! We went back a few days later to talk to the doctor about all the spitting up that she has been doing. At that appointment Kylie weighed 7lbs and 5 oz, it was only two days later! So she is growing and getting lots of food. She has already changed so much in her face with chubby cheeks and a big belly. Here she is after a bath.
